About Liz Tanner

Elizabeth Tanner – A Journey of Faith, Service, and Resilience

Elizabeth Tanner is a multi-talented professional, a dedicated wife and mother, and a passionate advocate for mental and spiritual well-being. With a career that spans over two decades and encompasses various fields—including healthcare, childcare, counseling, and community service—Elizabeth has built her life around empowering others and strengthening communities.

A Foundation Rooted in Faith and Hard Work

Born into a Christian family, Elizabeth’s life has been marked by perseverance through challenges. At just 16, she left her family to work as a maid and farmer to support her loved ones. With the help of her aunt, she pursued her first formal training in tailoring and fashion, which led to her work in a shoe manufacturing company in Mombasa, Kenya. Alongside her professional endeavors, she remained an active church member, participating in community activities under the mentorship of Dr. Bishop Lambert Mbela.

Her life took a transformative turn when she moved to Switzerland, where she embraced new opportunities to grow and serve. Learning the language and integrating into the culture, she pursued studies in professional cleaning and childcare. Elizabeth spent over a decade working in children’s care and later advanced her education to become a Nursing Assistant, accumulating more than 10 years of experience across different healthcare departments.

Academic and Professional Growth

Elizabeth’s thirst for knowledge has always driven her. Her dream was to become a scientist, but financial challenges and food insecurity made it impossible to continue her education. She had to leave school early to support her family’s basic needs. At just 16, she left her parents and faced the world with resilience and determination.

By the grace of God, in 2022, she successfully completed the Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) and is now studying for the Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) as she continues shaping her destiny.

Today, Elizabeth is also studying Theology, Psychology, and Counseling to merge her faith with mental health expertise. Her vision is to help people heal emotionally and spiritually while strengthening their faith. In 2022, she completed her certification as an Executive Professional Public Speaker and published her first book, a testament to her enduring commitment to self-improvement and inspiring others.

Commitment to Family and Community

Elizabeth has been married to Eduard for over 18 years, and together, they have raised three sons, aged 25, 17, and 10. For Elizabeth, motherhood is a calling—a selfless journey of nurturing and equipping her children and community with the tools they need to thrive.

Over the past decade, Elizabeth and her family have been actively involved in supporting orphans in Nairobi through The Scream Africa Organization. Later, their efforts extended to a new initiative, Mwamba, under the leadership of Brigitte Näf of Switzerland. Inspired by his family’s commitment, her 17-year-old son Tobias has felt called by God to become a missionary. Together, they guide and mentor young people in Switzerland, encouraging them to stay steadfast in their faith and never give up. Elizabeth firmly believes that with God, nothing is impossible.

As an active member of Christian Central Büchegg Church for more than 20 years, Elizabeth volunteers her time to serve her church and local village. Her hobbies—hiking, dancing, traveling, and engaging in social activities—reflect her vibrant personality and her belief in the importance of balanced living.

Mission and Vision

Elizabeth is the founder of Nimumbi, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering individuals, strengthening faith, and fostering holistic well-being. Inspired by biblical principles like Revelation 3:2 and John 15:13, she has dedicated her life to providing hope and guidance to those in need.

Her work ranges from organizing parenting workshops and conferences to coaching teenagers and counseling missionaries. Elizabeth’s goal is to help people rediscover their purpose, forgive themselves, celebrate their successes, and overcome mental challenges through faith.
